My name is Marko, but among gamers and on the internet I am known by the handle Exxar. I live in Croatia, where I’m currently pursuing my master’s degree in Software Engineering. I’ve been a gamer from my earliest days, although I didn’t get into print games (ignoring the usual family stuff like Monopoly) until school. I consider myself a hardcore PC purist, my favorite game of all time being Duke 3D. Today, I am a consummate player of the superheroic MMO City of Heroes where I crunch a lot numbers and make perfect builds.
But for more than the last ten years my biggest love are pen and paper RPGs. Or more specifically – http://www.sjgames.com/gurps“>GURPS. Although I’ve played many games during the years, I always came back to it and its generic, universal, fully modular and easily extendable glory. I’m not averse to the occasional board or card game either, but my main requirement for those is that it doesn’t take longer than an hour to finish a game. I like trying out new tactics so the more games I play, the more fun I have.
One day I hope to earn my living by writing for RPGs, but that’s not easy even for professional writers, much less for an aspiring, unpublished author like myself. Plans are already put into motion, however :-)
